AMC Networks is one of the biggest premium creators of celebrated original tv shows and movies. It recently released its new AMC+ app that allows users to watch movies right on their smartphones without having to go to the box office. However, AMC premium content is also available to watch on your favorite streaming platforms like Roku, Netflix, Prime Video, Fire tv, Hulu, Apple Tv, and more.
As with most state-of-the-art technologies, however, there are some glitches here and there, which can often make it seem like the AMC app isn’t working when you’re trying to access it on your smartphone. Don’t panic! We did the heavy lifting for you to find the reasons and solutions.
Why AMC app is not working or stuck on Android or iPhone?
There wouldn’t be a single smartphone app free of error or problem. Almost every app faces some issues, and users might face different issues with the app. Similarly, there could be a lot of reasons why your AMC app is not working properly. It could be outdated software, Faulty Internet connection, or poor servers; we can only assume.
However, there are some of the best tactics that always work when your app is freezing, crashing, or stuck on the screen. So without any further ado, let’s fix problems.
Try Logging Out
One reason why the AMC app may not be working is that you’re logged in for a long time. Try logging out of the app and then logging back in. This may fix the problem. If it doesn’t, try restarting your device.
The AMC app can also get stuck if there are not enough updates available. When this happens, a prompt will pop up on the screen asking if you want to install these updates. Tap ‘yes’ or ‘no.’ If you tap ‘yes,’ it will ask if you want them all installed at once or one at a time.
Clean up Cache
One of the first things you can do when your AMC app isn’t working is to clean up your Cache. Over time, your device can pile up a lot of junk data that can slow it down and cause apps to crash.
Caches are quite helpful in enhancing your experience, as they store databases, Usernames, Passwords, and search activities. However, in excess or if the caches are large, it can adversely affect the app’s performance.
Removing Cache of AMC app
On Android
- Launch Settings
- Go to the Applications and App Permissions.
- Tap AMC.
- Tap Storage.
- Hit Clear Cache.
On iOS
- Open Settings.
- Tap General.
- Tap Apps and access AMC.
- Click on “Offload data.”
Note: (Offload data will only delete temporary files, not app data)
Make Sure the App is Up-to-Date
The first thing you should do if your AMC app isn’t working is to check and see if it needs an update. Ensure you always update your app to eliminate common technical errors. If it’s outdated, the application may crash or malfunction due to some technical reasons or corrupted files.
However, when you keep your applications updated, you don’t miss out on the latest features and also stay away from technical bugs that cause all types of problems. To update your AMC app, simply go to the Playstore or Appstore and click on the Update button.
Restart Your Device
Sometimes, all it takes to fix technical problems is restarting your device. This can clear up any minor glitches that may be causing the app to freeze or crash. To restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, press and hold the power button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears. If your device has a Home button, you can also press and hold the Side button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears.
You should not reboot your smartphone multiple times a day; simply two times a day is decent to keep the device moving.
Check internet
The first thing you should do if your AMC app is not loading is check your internet connection. If you’re on a public WiFi network, try disconnecting and reconnecting to the network. If that doesn’t work, try restarting your router or modem.
Still having trouble?, try connecting to a different WiFi network. Also, try to turn on Airplane mode and switch Off and On your WiFi option. A lot of times, your router breaks the connection with your device if it’s not in the bandwidth.
1. Unplug your router from the power outlet. Wait 30 seconds, and then plug it back in.
2. Try using AMC Theatres On Demand again.
3. Turn on and off Airplane mode.
4. Turn off WiFi and turn it on after a few seconds.
insufficient storage
One of the most common reasons for most app problems is insufficient storage. This means there isn’t enough space on your device to download and install the app. Or Your disc space is not enough to run apps on multitasking, as apps build Cache over time.
To fix this, try deleting some other apps or files that you don’t need. You can download any Cleaner app to make things easier for you. Also, we suggest you root out the Cache of your AMC application to free up some of your disc space.
Force close the app
Sometimes when an app is acting up, and before you hit the ceiling, give it a good ol’ fashioned force close.
This restarts the app and can often fix minor glitches. To force close the AMC Theatres On Demand app on an iPhone, double-click the home button to bring up your most recently used apps. Find the AMC: Stream TV shows app and swipe up on it to close it. Now try opening the app again and see if it’s working properly.
Contact AMC support
If nothing moves the needle, you’ve still a choice: Contact the support team. They can help you troubleshoot the problem and get your app up and running again. To contact support, go to the AMC support page and look over all the troubleshooting listed there or submit a ticket.
You’ll have to submit a form with details like your name, email address, affected device, or issue you’re facing. Once you submit, you’ll get a ticket id, which you can use to check your ticket status.
